This week on the Eat the Damn Bread podcast Colet talks with our guest, Yanique Francis, modern-day Parisienne and creative director behind the lauded website, My Parisian Life.

Yanique is moved to Paris in the beginning of 2007 from New York. She holds a Masters degree in Global Marketing Communications and is a writer, digital consultant and event planner. Yanique started blogging in 2003 when she ran her fashion blog for 5 years. She soon stopped that to shift her focus toward MyParisianLife.com and today she runs it and Elope in Paris, where she plans intimate and fun weddings and elopements in the most romantic city in the world, Paris!

In this episode you can get Yanique’s perspective on being an expat in Paris and how the city has inspired her to create her own joie de vivre no matter where she finds herself.  In addition she shares about how living in France has up leveled her overall life experience and happiness!

Yanique discussed her take on the idea of ‘joie de vivre’ we all attempt to find in life, one way or another and how the thought of it being attached to a ‘French-only’ experience is simply a farce! She shares the things you can do TODAY to incorporate joie de vivre in your life, no matter where you live!

Yanique also shares a  bit of black history in Paris with Colet and where you should make a beeline to get to it when you touch down at Charles de Gaulle (the international airport in France).

This episode is giving all the Parisian feels, that we all need, especially as the borders begin to open to visitors!  You can listen to it now on Apple Podcast or Spotify, or read just a few highlights from the chat below (which has been edited and formatted for the blog).
